MANILA—The drought continued for the struggling Bicol Volcanoes on Saturday as they were dominated by the Batang Kankaloo, 81-109, at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.
The Batang Kankaloo controlled the game in almost all aspects, leading everything across the board except free throws.
Bicol gave up 25 fastbreak points, 24 points from turnovers, and committed 18 turnovers versus the 8 of Caloocan.
Ladis Lepalam’s 19 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists were spoiled by the victory of the opposing team.
On the other hand, Jeramer Cabanag was named the best player of the game after putting up 23 points, 4 rebounds and 5 steals with 7/13 three-point shooting.
However, late at the game Gabby Espinas was given an unsportsman-like foul after showing his fist to Lepalam when Baracael and Lepalam went to the ground after a looseball. Fortunately, both teams were able to calm down both players after the incident.
Caloocan’s victory, which moved them up to 13-5, gives them a chance to break away from sharing the fourth spot with Pasay, who will later take on GenSan.
Meanwhile, Bicol sinks deep at the last spot of the Southern Division at 1-18.
