Magnolia whips SMB, stays undefeated in PBA on Tour

PASIG--Magnolia's dominant showing in the PBA on Tour continued on Sunday night with a 94-65 rout of San Miguel at the Ynares Sports Arena.

The Hotshots banked on their solid defense that saw them holding the Beermen to just 14 points in the first quarter and nine in the final frame.

James Laput put up another solid effort for Magnolia, now 8-0 in the preseason event, with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and one assist.

Jerrick Ahanmisi added 13 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal, while Abu Tratter and Jio Jalalon each chipped in 11 points with Tratter also grabbing 11 rebounds.

Calvin Abueva made his PBA on Tour debut and put up nine points, 16 rebounds, and two assists off the bench.

Jericho Cruz led SMB with 15 points and six rebounds, while Rodney Brondial added 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
