MANILA--Change is significantly set to come in the PSL as Rocky Chan announced early Wednesday that he has tendered his resignation as the league's president.

According to the executive, he is no longer connected to the PSL from now on.

"Effective July 12, 2023, I am officially stepping down as Pilipinas Super League President and will no longer be connected with the league," Chan said in a statement. "This is Rocky Chan officially signing off for Pilipinas Super League."

He came on as the founding president of the PSL last year after he helped establish the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup in 2021.

The inaugural PSL season saw Davao Occidental winning the Pearl of the Orient Cup and Pampanga ruling the Dumper Cup.

The Giant Lanterns are currently playing in the MPBL sporting an undefeated 17-0 record ahead of a road trip to Batangas City to take on the Embassy Chill on Thursday night.

Chan, meanwhile, confirmed that a new management team is coming in to continue the PSL's operations.

"We hope for the success of PSL under its new management and continue to discover young talents," he further said.

The league is currently gearing up for its under-18 national finals beginning on Saturday in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

The Pampanga Delta, the Luzon champions, are up to defend their homecourt against the Farm Fresh-Letran Milkers, the Metro Manila champs, Sherilin Khalifa-Naga, the Visayas winners, Cagayan De Oro Higalas, the Northern Mindanao champs, and Max Ballers Davao, the Southern Mindanao winners.
