MANILA--Rain Or Shine stole the thunder from TNT late to score a 106-100 win in their PBA on Tour battle on Wednesday night at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Down 96-98 with two minutes left, the Elasto Painters went on a 6-0 run behind two free throws from Gian Mamuyac and back-to-back baskets from Anton Asistio to take a 102-98 lead with 1:05 remaining.
Off a timeout, Dave Marcelo kept the Tropang Giga in the game with a layup with 55 seconds left, but Santi Santillan doused cold water on their hopes with a huge three-pointer with 37 seconds left that sealed the deal for the E-Painters.
Mamuyac finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals for ROS, while Asistio added 16 points, two assists, and two steals.
Glenn Khobuntin put up 24 points, 15 rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block for TNT, which remained winless this preseason at 0-7.
