RIYADH - The Philippine national Mobile Legends team continue their unbeaten run at the IESF Asia-Oceania qualifiers as they take a 2-0 win over Cambodia Wednesday inside the Riyadh Boulevard.
David "FlapTzy" Canon was inserted back into the starting lineup in place of Jan "XBOCT" Amande, who played against Saudi Arabia the day prior.
With Angelo Kyle "Pheww" Arcangel utilizing another pocket pick with a midlane Grock to complement Rowgen "Owgwen" Unigo's Angela, they made quick work of the Cambodians in Game 1 despite Sour "CHMA" Mara's Ling steal in the draft.
Michael Angelo "KyleTzy" Sayson led Bren in the kills department with four, while Canon and Unigo led the KDA department with 9.0 and 8.0, respetively.
Cambodia unleashed their own version of the UBE strat with their Friedrinn and Estes combo, while Bren went back to a more conventional draft but with two tanky heroes in Atlas and Uranus.
It was a low-scoring game for both teams, but despite the Burn x Flash-led team getting the upper hand in the kills department, the Filipinos effective lord dance lured all five Cambodians, prompting Marco "Super Marco" Requitano's Claude to sneak from the top lane and do a tower lock.
The Filipino contingent will square off with dark horse Mongolia, who defeated another surprise story in Kazakhstan 2-1 earlier, while the latter will meet the Cambodians in the lower bracket.
