RIYADH - SIBOL's official Mobile Legends team needs just three of a possible five games to take the IESF Asia-Oceania trophy against Mongolia inside the Rioyadh Boulevard last Thursday.
The national team went on with the classic UBE lineup in the first game, picking a jungle Fredrinn and a healer roam Floryn for Rowgen "Owgwen" Unigo's hands, while Angelo Kyle "Pheww" Arcangel went with a Joy pocket pick.
Mongolia's UBE-inspired lineup went naught against SIBOL, who mainly punished Ethan's rather thin roamer in Diggie with six deaths, as the latter dominated the game with 11 kills to the former's three.
David "FlapTzy" Canon stealed AIZN's signature Terizla for the second game along with Owgwen's Minotaur, as the combo's double knock-up proved to be fatal for the Mongolians in team fights.
Marco "Super Marco" Requitano went super with his Beatrix going 8/1/1 in his KDA as the gold laner dealt most of SIBOL's damage in a 15-5 Game 2 win.
The Filipinos decided to opt for sets in the third game as they went with a Grock roam and FlapTzy's signature Lapu lapu pick to combat Mongolia with a tank-shredder Karrie in Bebex's hands.
Super Marco and Michael Angelo "KyleTzy" Sayson went berserk in Game 3, combining for 14 kills and 18 assists with the Brody and Fredrinn to end the series in a sweep, 19-9.
The Filipino contingent will take home USD 7000 in prizes, while the Mongolians will take USD 5000 to Ulaanbaatar.
Both Philippines and Mongolia will be heading to Romania for the IESF World Esports Championship next month with fellow Asian sides Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and defending champions Indonesia to compete for the international crown.
