MANILA—Gilas Pilipinas bounced back from its tough loss to Senegal two nights back by scoring a 75-63 win in their rematch on Sunday night in the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament in Guangzhou.
Gilas outscored Senegal, 28-10, in the fourth quarter to pull away as unlike their first meeting, Gilas finally finished the job after starting the final frame strong.
CJ Perez led Gilas, now 2-1 in the pocket tournament with 14 points, while AJ Edu added 13.
Gilas will face Iran's Team B anew on Monday night to complete their assignments.
They then will return home on Tuesday as they welcome Jordan Clarkson from the United States.
Jean Boissy led Senegal with 16 markers.
