MANILA--After tallying its first win in the Jones Cup, Rain Or Shine was sent back crashing to earth on Thursday night after reigning KBL champion Anyang gave them an 87-77 defeat at the Taipei Heiping Basketball Gymnasium.

Even without Gilas pool member Rhenz Abando, Anyang set the tone of the game early on as they raced to a 28-15 lead at the end of the first quarter even as Rain Or Shine played catch-up the rest of the way only to no avail.

Park Ji-Hoon led Anyang, now in third place at 4-1, with 25 points, three rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Former Phoenix import Du'Vaughn Maxwell added 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Andrei Caracut led ROS, which dropped back to last place at 1-5, with 19 points, two rebounds, and four assists.

Ange Kouame added 15 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, and one steal, but he committed five turnovers as well.

ROS takes Friday off as they look to finish their campaign strong against Japan's under-22 team on Saturday and UC-Irvine on Sunday.
