MPBL: Bataan rips ParaƱaque in crucial clash

MANILA--Bataan clobbered ParaƱaque from the get-go to score a 92-56 win in their MPBL clash on Thursday night at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.

Expected to be a close showdown between teams trying to stay in the playoff race, the Risers quickly ascended into dominance, holding a 26-12 lead against the Patriots at the end of the first quarter.

Bataan continued to pull away from ParaƱaque as the game went on until the former held the latter to just four fourth-quarter points.

Yves Sazon led the Risers, who moved up to 10-12, two games behind the Marikina Shoemasters for the eighth seed in the Northern Division, with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting, four rebounds, and one assist.

Arvie Bringas, Robbi Darang, James Castro, and Dom Vera each added 10 points.

Keith Pido put up 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, three rebounds, one assist, and two steals, and James Abugan added 11 points on a perfect 5-for-5 field goal clip and four rebounds for the Patriots, who fell to 9-14.
