MANILA - The strongest region in Mobile Legends Esports is about to unleash even stronger power.
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League - Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 12 will start on September 8, Friday, with a rematch of the Season 11 Finals rematch between defending champions Echo and runners-up Blacklist International.
The tournament will run its regular season for six weeks every Friday to Sunday before wrapping up with the playoffs for four days from October 26 to 29.
"It is not the end of the country's domination in the world of MLBB esports yet, as all teams are gigil to prove that we remain to be the strongest region, especially now that we are hosting the upcoming M5World Championship this December," MOONTON Games Marketing Lead for Esports Harry Leonardo said in a statement.
They added that the schedule congestion, which will saw three to four series each day, is due to other third party tournaments such as the Snapdragon Pro Series and the IESF, as well as to prepare for the upcoming World Championships.
Eight teams will compete for the MPL-PH championship as well as for two slots in the M5 World Championships, including new team on the block AP.Bren, who will take over Bren Esports' slot, as well as a rebranded Minana EVOS.
Regular season matches will be held inside the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City, while the playoffs venue will be revealed mid-season.
MOONTON revealed that there joined forces with new ticketing system Slash and will have two tiers of tickets available to spectators, and as well partnered with PiE TV for free TV matches.
MPL-PH will also recognize another inductee in the Hall of Legends, as well as best players in their current roles at the end of the regular season.
Meanwhile, MDL Philippines Season 2 will run still as an online tournament from August 29 to October 5 with 12 teams competing for the MDL crown.
MDL-PH matches will be played from Tuesday to Thursday, with the opening match between finalists GameLab and defending champs ECHO Proud.
