MANILA--In a surprise development, the long-time tag team of Danerie "Wise" Del Rosario and Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna will not be joining Blacklist International for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 12.
The "VeeWise" duo, which led the club to greater heights including the M3 World Championship title last year, has been excluded from Blacklist's official MPL PH roster as revealed on Thursday night.
Leading the nine-man line-up for Blacklist for MPL PH Season 12 are starters Salic Imam, which reclaims his role as captain, newest MPL PH Hall of Legends member Edward Dapadap, Kiel Soriano, Stephen Castillo, and Renejay Bacarse.
Kenneth Tadeo and Lee Gonzales, who were part of Blacklist's starting unit during Season 11 and the MSC, will be in the second unit this time with Kimpoy Dela Cruz and Russel Usi completing the roster.
Explaining why Del Rosario and Villaluna took the season off, Blacklist said, "After the consecutive seasons and tournament grind of MPL S10, M4, MPL S11, and MSC, they wanted to take some time away to recharge and recover. Though this was not an easy decision for them to make, we believe this is what’s best for them as players and individuals. They have the full support of their Blacklist International and Tier One Entertainment family, both in-game and out."
Sources told Dugout Philippines that both veterans are considering a return to school for the time being.
Blacklist aims to reclaim the domestic title back from Echo and even the world championship should they qualify for M5 happening this Christmas season in the Philippines.
