OMO Abyssinian eliminates home teams, books Pokemon Unite WC finals date with Luminosity

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga--Odd Man Out silenced much of the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Center as they eliminated the two Japanese teams remaining in the hunt for the Pokemon Unite World Championship title during the lower bracket playoffs on Saturday.

OMO first knocked out MJK in the lower bracket semifinals as MJK had no answer to Luis Felizarte's Mew in the last two games of the best-of-three series to complete a reverse sweep.

OMO afterward sent Oyasumi Macro home by a similar reverse sweep following a wild finish.

OM seemed to have solved the OMO puzzle after neutralizing JM Liban a bit by banning his Hoopa in Game 1 en route to a dominating win.

OM, however, blew their twice-to-beat advantage especially in the rubber match, when OMO snatched the Rayquaza kill late to steal the close win that sealed their tie.

OMO gets a rematch against Luminosity in the grand finals as the Filipino team looks to avenge their 2-0 loss to the American club in the upper bracket semis that pulled them down to the lower bracket.

However, Luminosity has some sort of a twice-to-beat advantage in the grand finals for being the upper bracket champion, that is, if OMO clinches their best-of-five series, another best-of-five affair will be played.

Luminosity won the upper bracket by sweeping OM, 2-0
