MAKATI - AP.Bren retains their footing to wrap the week in a winning note as they trample resilient Minana EVOS in a 2-0 sweep in the second week of MPL Philippines Season 12 on Sunday.
Both teams did not change their lineup with both coming of from wins, with AP.Bren sweeping ONIC PH on Friday, while Minana EVOS upsetting RSG Philippines last Saturday.
The boys of Francis "Ducky" Glindro revealed a pocket pick with the Khaleed for David "FlapTzy" Canon while MNNE went with a more durable trio of Baxia, Chou, and Thamuz.
AP.Bren capitalized on their burst capability especially during the first eight minutes, with Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo's Minotaur setting up kills for the rest of his teammates.
Marco "Super Marco" Rwquitiano wraps the first game with a maniac, capping with a Renner shot against Lance "LanceCy" Cunanan's Gord while recovering in the base.
It was Owgwen's 0/1/11 performance with the Minotaur who got the MVP of the game honors, with Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel's Valentina getting three kills and eight assists without falling once.
AP.Bren continued their momentum in the second game, with FlapTzy getting his hands on his signature Yu Zhong in the EXP lane, while Pheww getting his Valentina once more.
Minana EVOS tried to fend off the AP.Bren storm in the 17th minute with Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson almost falling down against five Minana players but Super Marco led the Hive with a triple kill to prompt LanceCy to retreat and defend to no avail.
It was KyleTzy's Baxia who grabbed the MVP nod with four kills and seven assists while only falling once.
With the win, AP.Bren climbed to second place with 10 points and 3-1 win-loss record, while Minana sinks with their fourth loss of the season.
AP.Bren will have a three-day game week starting with a face-off against Smart Omega on Friday, while Minana EVOS will face current leage leaders ECHO on the same day.
