MANILA--Despite already being eliminated from advancing further to the FIBA World Cup, Australia refused to finish their campaign with defeat and thwarted Georgia, 100-84, on Sunday night at the Okinawa Arena.

Australia’s much-talented roster showed depth after scoring 37 bench points as opposed to 24 of Georgia.

The Boomers took off in the second quarter and opened a 54-37 lead at halftime.

Georgia had a mini run in the third quarter, but the Aussies managed to maintain their lead in the remaining minutes of the game and took home the consolation win.

Patty Mills tallied 19 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds in his 29 minutes of play to lead Australia, which already secured its place in the Paris Olympics by being the best finisher for Oceania.
