MAKATI - ECHO's still on top of the game

This is what Orca's head coach Harold Francis "Tictac" Reyes has said on the post-game interview with host Mara Aquino when asked about their recent losses in international tournaments.

"Sobrang daming natutunan namin dun sa three consecutive losses namin sa international tournament. So heto, malaking bagay na nanalo kami sa Blacklist ngayon. Eto yung parang ano namin na (motivation para) yung mga doubt sa sarili ng mga players ko mawala din. [We have learned a lot in the three consecutive losses that we have in the international tournament. So, our victory against Blacklist International is a big deal. This serves as like (our motivation) for our team's self-doubts to be gone.]" Tictac had shared.

ECHO finished third in the most recent MLBB Southeast Asian Championship after getting swept by ONIC Esports, a fourth place finish against ONIC Overlord in the World Cyber Games, and a fourth place finish in the Snapdragon Pro Series 2023, falling against eventual runners-up Bigetron Alpha.

Tictac also addressed their team's doubters ahead of the start of MPL Philippines Season 12.

"Yung mga nagda-doubt sa amin, ipapakita namin na nandito pa rin kami sa top. [Those who doubted against us, we will show you that we are still on the top]," he said.

Meanwhile, Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, who was named the MVP for the first two games against Blacklist International, didn't mind their critics.

"Magdoubt kayo dyan, okay lang. Wala naman kaming paki sa inyo. Nag-eenjoy lang kami. (Go on and doubt, that's fine. We don't care. We're just having fun)," KarlTzy added.

ECHO will have their second game against ONIC Philippines on Saturday.
