MANILA--Another roster bug hit Gilas Pilipinas, this time with its women's 3x3 team.
But unlike their men's 5x5 counterparts, coach Pat Aquino had to pull the plug on his team.
Gilas Women will no longer compete in the Asian Games 3x3 tournament in Hangzhou, China after their own appeal for replacement players was rejected.
Aquino revealed on Monday that they lobbied to have Cielo Pagdulagan and Marga Villanueva come in to replace Camille Clarin and Angelica Surada.
Pagdulagan and Villanueva, however, were not part of the pool submitted in consideration for the final entry-by-name lineup for Gilas Women's 3x3, so an appeal had to be launched only to be denied by the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee.
With Camille Nolasco and Louna Ozar left in the team, Aquino had no choice but to beg off totally.
Gilas Women were scheduled to face Jordan on Monday.
