CEBU CITY--Down went the world number one!
Miami pulled off a shocker in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Cebu Masters semifinals after downing Ub Huishan NE, 21-13, on Sunday night at the SM Seaside City Activity Center here.
Three straight deuces from Jimmer Fredette sparked Miami's breakaway as the American team opened an 11-7 lead with 5:34 to go.
Miami continued the late control of the game until Canyon Berry hit the game-clinching two from the right wing with 3:16 left.
Fredette finished with 11 points, Barry added seven, Dylan Travis had two, and Kareem Maddox put up one for Miami, which will battle Vienna in the final.
Vienna earned its own place in the US$40,000 game by stunning Amsterdam, 19-18.
Quincy Diggs hit a floater right at the final buzzer to win it for Vienna.
Diggs finished with seven points, Matthias Linortner added six, Nico Kaltenbrunner put up four, and Enis Murati made two for Vienna.
