PASAY CITY--Montenegro ended its FIBA World Cup campaign on a high note by defeating Greece, 73-69, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.

Led once again by Nikola Vucevic who had been brilliant all-tournament long, Montenegro escaped its European counterpart even as naturalized player Kendrick Perry missed the game to rest.

Vucevic had 19 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals as he spearheaded the Black Mountains to their best finish in a FIBA World Cup tournament.

Without Perry, Montenegro found support through Dino Radoncic and Vladimir Mihailovic who had 12 and 10 points respectively.

On the other hand, Ioannis Papapetrou ended his FIBA World Cup journey for Greece with 16 points while teammate Kostas Papanikolaou added 13 markers of his own.

Already without Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokoumnpo for the tournament after having knee surgery, Greece also did not field his brother Thanasis for its final game.
