MAKATI - Defending champions ECHO downs current second-seeded AP.Bren to end the first half of the MPL Philippines Season 12 seven games unbeaten on Sunday.

The Orcas wrapped up the match with a two-man defense in their own well with the sanctuary lord and their minions meanwhile destroying AP.Bren's base and clinching the victory in the most uncommon of ways.

It was a toe-to-toe affair for both teams, who did not changed their composition, coming into the first game with a 20-11 outing in favor of the M4 World Champions.

Both teams were in close combat up until the 14th minute where three AP.Bren players fell down courtesy of Alston "Sanji" Pabico's Kadita and Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales' Karrie to give ECHO a comfortable lead.

The Orcas grabbed the first game with the enhanced lord in their side, with the prized midlaner getting the MVP nod with six kills and 11 assists.

It was a much closer second game between the Orcas and the Hive as they engaged in more team fights, but Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's Fredrinn outdid counterpart Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson's Akai in the jungling department, with the ECHO star leading his team in getting all the major objectives.

ECHO however found themselves in trouble as three of them fell down in a crucial clash near the lord pit despite grabbing the enhanced major objective.

AP.Bren tried to force a rubber match but Sanji's Novaria and Jaypee "Jaypee" dela Cruz's Chou delayed the Hive's onslaught in time for the lord to march toward the exposed AP.Bren base and end the game for the Orcas.

The seasoned veteran roamer registered a 4/3/2 KDA to get the MVP nod, while Sanji dealt the most damage with 3/1/5 KDA in his name.

ECHO will take a Sunday break and will face Blacklist International for a rematch of the Season 12 opener, while AP.Bren will battle the same team to close the first half of the regular season.
