MAKATI - ONIC Philippines extends their unbeaten run to four as they hand a 2-1 close combat against Smart Omega to lock their first half campaign of MPL Philippines Season 12 Sunday.
The Hedgehogs introduced a returning Ralph "Rapidoot" Adrales to the roam position with Mark Genzon "KRAMM" Rusiana in the EXP lane, while Jomari "Jowm" Pingol debuts for the Barangay in the gold lane, prompting Duane "Kelra" Pillas to play as the starting jungler.
Smart Omega executed a near perfect first game, dealing a 9-0 dominance against ONIC PH and getting all the objectives while just losing one tower in the process.
Kelra's jungle Harith made wonders in under 12 minutes of play with four kills and four assists to grab the MVP nod, while Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic's Rafaela and Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog's Minotaur combined for 17 assists.
ONIC PH bounced back strong in the second game with a 9-3 outing against Smart Omega, with E2MAX not having an easy game with 0/3/3 with the Valentina.
Kenneth "Nets" Barro's Bruno dealt five kills and two assists as the main damage dealer, while Dean "Raizen" Sumagui's signature Lancelot went with three kills while assisting four more.
It was a much closer third game for the Hedgehogs and the Barangay with the game extending to more than 21 minutes, which prompted a potential comeback for Omega led by Kelra's signature Wanwan pick.
However, KRAMM ended the game in his own terms, calling GGs to the series with his Paquito going straight to the base for the win when E2MAX's Angela and Nowee "Ryota" Macasa's Yu Zhong decided to join the lord clash instead.
With the win, ONIC is now up in the standing to provisional second or third with 4-3 record, while Omega sinks to 3-4 with nine points, good for sixth place.
ONIC PH will next see RSG Philippines to open their Week 4 campaign while Smart Omega will try to get their groove back against Minana EVOS next Saturday.
