IAÅžI, Romania - End of PH era who?
The SIBOL Mobile Legends national team scores another gold as they trip defending champs Indonesia, 3 to 1, to take the crown as the best MLBB nation in the IESF World Championships 2023 on Sunday.
Coming from a game down, the SIBOL squad captained by Hall of Legends inductee and Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel worked the next three games to defeat their perennial rivals, which are represented by Bigetron Alpha.
Indonesians take the first game after 28 minutes of back and forth action as SIBOL were outsmarted in the final lord dance as Marcel Juan "Morenoo" Sinulingga's Kadita bursted Pheww's Valentina while a bottom lane push from Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo and Marco Stephen "Super Marco" Requitiano went to naught thanks to Calvin "Vynnn" and Dicky "Saken" Cahyana.
The Filipinos tied the series thanks to Super Marco's Claude, who bursted down Vynnn's Minotaur and Kenneth "Super Kenn" Marcello's Brody which was finished by David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon and Michael Angelo "KyleTzy" Sayson during the final lord dance.
Super Marco, now with the Brody, led the Filipinos to a 25-5 third game beat down to the Indonesians with 12 kills and six assists, while Vynnn's Baxia roam pick did not work at all with only three assists to his name and 10 deaths.
The renowned Filipino marksman user proved he belongs to the big stage as he registered two kills and three assists in a 7-1 fourth game win for SIBOL, while Indonesian jungler Super Kenn fell down four times without registering a single kill or assist.
With the win, the AP Bren Esports main five grabbed their second national team medal, except for Pheww who secured his third medal under the SIBOL banner, the other one being the SEA Games 2019 champion.
This is the Filipinos' second podium finish in this year's IESF following AK's second place finish in Tekken 7 last Saturday.
