MANILA—Bacoor City bounced back from its heartbreaking Game 1 defeat to Iloilo with a 92-52 Game 2 win in their MPBL Playoffs first round tie on Saturday night at the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City.

The Strikers quickly opened a huge margin again, but unlike last week at home, they preserved it this time and even stretched it to his largest margin at 40 in the end.

Just like in Game 1, Bacoor City banked on its defense to open a 45-27 halftime lead.

But this time, the team continued to stifle Iloilo in the third quarter and outscored them, 22-10, to virtually seal the deal.

Chito Jaime, whose missed free throw in Game 1 set up CJ Catapusan's heroics to steal the road win, atoned for himself by leading the Strikers with 16 points on four triples and seven rebounds.

Jhaymo Eguilos added 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, 10 rebounds, and three assists, and his last basket with 1:04 remaining made him the latest member of the elite 1,000 Points Club.

Catapusan led Iloilo with 11 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one block.

The rubber match will be played next Saturday at the Bacoor City STRIKE Gymnasium, giving the Strikers homecourt edge.
