Batang Kankaloo trips Pasig, sets MPBL North semis clash vs. Pampanga

CALOOCAN—Batang Kankaloo completed the cast in the MPBL North Division semifinals after eliminating Pasig, 68-60, in the rubber match of their first-round series on Friday night at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Batang Kankaloo made the splash in the second half, outscoring Pasig, 41-27, after the home side was held to just 10 points in the second quarter.

Down 27-34 at the half, Batang Kankaloo outscored Pasig, 20-14, in the third to cut the deficit down to one, 48-47, and then pulled away for good with a 21-13 fourth.

Gabby Espinas led Batang Kankaloo, which will next face Pampanga in their playoff route starting next Friday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando City, Pampanga, with 15 points, seven rebounds, and one block, Jeramer Cabanag added 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Robbie Manalang and Tonton Peralta each added 10 points for Pasig.
