MAKATI - Blacklist International continue their quest to a postseason appearance as they defeat Minana EVOS again to take the regular season series Friday on Week 5 of the MPL Philippines Season 12.
It was Blacklist first win in the second half of the regular season after conceding three straight losses in Week 4, while Minana EVOS' win streak ended after a 2-0 run last week.
The Agents have previously defeated Minana in Week 2, two games to one, with Stephen "Sensui" Castillo leading the way and Salic "Hadji" Imam captaining the team, but Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo stepped in for the KDA Machine this time around.
The switch proved to be effective as Yue's Novaria became MNNE's thorn, registering one kill and nine assists without falling once in their 10-6 comeback win in Game 1, lasting only eleven minutes.
However, star gold laner Kiel "Oheb" Soriano's Brody claimed the MVP nod with five kills and four assists without a single death with the Brody, while Ken Louie "Kzen" Pile only grabbed four assists and fell twice with the Baxia for MNNE.
It took 13 minutes for Blacklist to decode Minana in the second game with a 7-3 outing, again with Yue's Novaria dealing massive damage with a kill and six assists, while Edward "Edward" Dapadap registered five assists with the Terizla to outplay Jhon Marl "Lord JM" Sebastian's Lapu Lapu.
Minana only grabbed a single turtle in the entire game while not getting a single turret against Blacklist, while the latter took all nine Minana turrets as well as the lone lord of the match.
Win the win, Blacklist sits in provisional fourth place with six wins, five losses, and 16 points, while Minana remained in seventh place, sitting on a 3-8 record and 10 points.
Blacklist will see fellow playoff hopeful ONIC Philippines on Saturday to boost their playoff bid, while Minana EVOS will see RSG Philippines in an attempt to salvage their season.
