MANILA--Converge coach Aldin Ayo called up one of his former players for a recent pocket preseason tournament pitting independently-owned PBA teams.
The team decided to bring in Mac Tallo for the said pocket tournament, sparking rumors that he is rejoining the professional 5-on-5 ranks after starring in the 3x3 stage.
However, as revealed to the media on Tuesday, the former PBA first-round pick is not joining the FiberXers for the upcoming PBA Commissioner's Cup at least for the first few weeks of the competition.
Interestingly enough, Tallo, the number one 3x3 player in the Philippines right now, did not join Manila Chooks in its trip to Doha for the FIBA 3x3 Al Bidda Park Challenger.
Manila Chooks reactivated Paul Desiderio and Dennis Santos to backstop Tosh Sesay and Marcus Hammonds in the qualifying event for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manama Masters.
Manila Chooks battles Antwerp TopDesk and Utrecht early Wednesday (Philippine Time) in Pool B action.
