MAKATI - And the hukbo lives for another day.

Minana EVOS survives for one more series as they upsets a more favored ECHO squad in their penultimate MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season match on Friday.

The win secured them crucial three points to put them up at 16 points total, with their record standing at five wins and eight losses, pressuring both ONIC Philippines and Smart Omega in their three-team race for the last two playoff spots.

ECHO meanwhile suffered their second loss after an 11-match unbeaten run that was snapped in a 0-2 defeat of RSG Philippines.

It was a dominant win for Minana in the first game as they dealt a 20-to-6 outing against the Orcas to take the first game, putting pressure on Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales' Wanwan as well as Jaypee "Jaypee" dela Cruz's roam Chou, both conceding six deaths.

Ken Louie "Kzen" Pile's Fredrinn was instrumental to their win with four kills and six assists, while securing all but one lord during the 25-minute game to grab the MVP of the match honors, while Brain Milez "Spider-Milez" Santos did not fall a single time with the Floryn while dealing a kill and dishing 18 assists.

It was Lance "LanceCy" Cunanan's heroics in the second game the secured all three points for the army as he registered a 1/3/5 KDA performance with the Faramis in a 9-6 outing against the Orcas to close the series in 15 minutes.

Spider-Milez' Diggie Dominic "Domeng" del Mundo's Ixia proved to be a thorn in Bennyqt's Karrie's side as they limited the marksman to just a kill and an assists, while Kzen's Akai made sure KarlTzy's Fredrinn will have a hard time securing the objectives, eventually getting all three turtles and two lords for Minana EVOS.

Coach DJ "Imbadeejay" Astibe's boys will meet fellow playoff hopefuls ONIC in a win-or-go-home Saturday clash, with a win for either side crucial for clinching a playoff spot, while ECHO will try to redeem themselves with a match against a familiar foe in AP.Bren.
