MAKATI - Smart Omega returns the favor to rivals Blacklist International as they deal a 2-0 beatdown of the latter to end Week 4 festivities of the MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season Sunday.
Star gold laner Duane "Kelra" Pillas led the Barangay over the Agents, who gave them a 2-0 defeat during the opening week of the pro leagues last September 10.
It was a bounce back victory for Smart Omega, who faced a shock 2-0 defeat against Minana EVOS, while Blacklist suffered a frustrating third defeat in a row, following losses against ECHO and RSG Philippines.
Omega survived 37 minutes and 24 second of back and forth Game 1 against Blacklist, with gold lead swung between two sides up until the 36th minute.
Kelra's Claude pressured Blacklist's bottom lane for Edward "Edward" Dapadap's Terizla to defend, leaving the rest of the players in a four-against-four skirmish that resulted to takedowns of Kiel "Oheb" Soriano's Irithel as well as Salic "Hadji" Imam's Novaria, with Andrew "Andoryuu" Flora securing the lord and for Omega.
The gold laner registered four kills and seven assists to take the MVP nod, while captain Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic's Valentina grabbed a 7/4/7 KDA, including clutch I am You ultimates against Stephen Jasper "Sensui" Castillo's Akai.
Omega executed a different second game against their rivals, getting themselves an 8-2 domination against Blacklist, while not letting a single objective taken away from Andoryuuu.
Kelra again led the barangay with 3/0/4 KDA on his Irithel, with E2MAX and Nowee "Ryota" Macasa the only casualties in the 13-minute match, while Renejay "Renejay" Barcase's Chou became a non-factor, getting 0/0/0 KDA with his signature hero.
With the win, Smart Omega inched closer to their playoff chances with a 4-5 win-loss record and 12 points in the bag, while Blacklist remained at 13 points but has saw their record dip to 5-5.
