MAKATI - ONIC Philippines grabs the last spot of the MPL Philippines Season 12 playoffs as they sweep already playoff-bound Smart Omega in their crucial match Sunday.

It was a better performance for the Sonics, who also defeated the Barangay but in a 2-1 showdown last September 24, with Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui leading the men in yellow and black.

ONIC PH pulled a surprise in their lineup for their last regular season game, putting midlaner Joemarie "Escalera" delos Santos as the team's roamer for the game.

Coach Mark Kevin "Bluffzy" Reyes's squad dealt a close 12-12 outing to Smart Omega, with the game swinging to both sides for the entire 22 minutes of the game.

However, despite OMG grabbing the last lord of the game, a siege led by Jomearie Escalera turned the tables for ONIC PH's favor, getting marksman Duane "Kelra" Pillas and jungler Ron Matthew "Matt" Papag, ending into a wipeout and securing the game for the men in yellow.

ONIC showed a better second game as they dominated Omega in a 13-6 outing, with Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez's Valentina leading the chargw with three kills and seven assists while only falling twice, and Escalera's Grock dishing 11 of 13 total assists.

Both Kelra and captain Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic were shut down by the onslaught as the prized gold laner only registered a quiet 0/0/1 KDA with the Claude while E2MAX fell six times, the most of any player, along with two kills and three assists with the Lylia.

With the win, ONIC PH climbed to 7-7 win-loss record with 21 points, while Omega slid to sixth place with 7-7 record as well but has inferior points total with 19.
