MAKATI - ONIC Philippines secures three much-needed points after sweeping an already-eliminated TNC Pro Team in Week 6 of the MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season on Friday.
It was a repeat performance for the yellow hedgehogs against the Phoenix Army, who they met last September 22, with Czedrick "Yoshinu" Romero being the series' MVP.
The starting roamer featured once more in the series along with his fellow regular starters, while TNC Pro rotated their EXP Lane and handed Mark Laurence "Bao" Cabigting his much-awaited MPL debut.
Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez stepped up in the first game as he registered five kills and 12 assists with a midlane Faramis in a 17-10 ONIC PH win in 13 minutes, while Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui's Baxia puts up a 3/1/11 KDA while denying King Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez's Fanny with any major objective.
It was a dominant economy game for ONIC as they limited Bao's Edith and Ben "Benthings" Maglaque's Minotaur in having an impact with both TNC players combining for 10 deaths.
The Sonics continued with their dominant showing in the second game as they dismantled the Phoenix Army, 16 kills to just four, in the second game in under 15 minutes, with Kenneth "Nets" Barro tallying six kills and six assists to grab the MVP nod.
Raizen's Fredrinn had a field day in the entire game as he grabbed every major objective available while registering a 5/0/7 KDA, while Bao and Benthings became prime targets once more combining for nine deaths and only five assists.
With the win, ONIC PH reclaimed solo fifth place with 6-6 win-loss record and 18 points total and has leapfrogged both fellow playoff ticket chasers Smart Omega and Minana EVOS to end the day.
ONIC will then meet the aforementioned Minana squad while TNC will try to grab as much points as possible against Blacklist International, both on Saturday.
