MANILA--Sixteen teams are expected to shine in the Sinag Liga Asya's Lakas Kwarenta tournament kicking off this Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

So, nabuo itong Sinag Lakas Kwarenta through the connections sa iba't ibang players,” he added.

Divided into two groups, 521 Trading Inc, Malolos Republic, Tatakgel-Binan, San Pedro Mamba, J Project Clothing Shop, NBS, Pampanga and Cagayan Valley compose Group A.

Group B will have the Cavite Don Pacundo Sea Lions, MC Sports Management, VPD Trading, Sta. Rosa Saints, Tito Rex X Firewire, Bayabas-Rennel Leap, GDL Construction, and IGT Warriors.

Each team will be allowed to field one former pro player as long as he retired five years ago.

Former PBA star Rodney Santos will serve as Commissioner of the joust presented by Finn Cotton and supported by JProject Clothing Shop, Converge, SCD, Foton, and Sunsport.

Also present were SLA chairman Rocky Chan, president and CEO Ray Alao, and league consultant Dennis Villa-Ignacio.

Players and coaches from the member schools of the Interscholastic Athletic Association, which has partnered with the SLA, also showed up at the event.
