MAKATI - Smart Omega secure themselves a postseason ticket as they defeated RSG Philippines, two games to one, in their penultimate match of MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season Saturday.
The Barangay returned the favor against the Raiders, who defeated them soundly in a 0-2 sweep last September 23, with Eman "EMANN" Sangco leading the charge for Coach Brian "Panda" Im's squad.
Coach Ronel "Stronger" Tan's men's went into 18 minutes with a 16-12 victory over RSG Philippines, with Ron Matthew "Matt" Papag's Baxia getting the MVP nod with three kills and 11 assists to his name, only falling twice in the process.
John Darry "Irrad" Tuason's Martis registered 3/4/4 KDA but has failed to secure any turtle or lord as Matt and the rest of the Barangay took all three turtles and three lords.
The Raiders executed a better second game with an 11-2 domination of the Barangay with Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo's Benedetta getting two kills and two assists in the process, while Dylan "Light" Catipon's Edith lead all players in KDA with three kills and six assists without falling once.
Matt's Lancelot and Nowee "Ryota" Macasa's Terizla did not have a good game with seven combined deaths and only one assist between the two, while Duane "Kelra" Pillas securing only one kill with the Claude.
The Barangay turned the tables in Game 3 with an 13-4 domination of the Raiders with them letting only a turtle and a lord fall into RSG's hands while Omega got two in the process, the final lord take including Light and Nathzz.
Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog's Grock registered two kills and seven assists to take the MVP honors, including a flicker-Wild Charge combo enhanced with the Cyclone Eye to knock off EMANN and Arvie "Aqua" Antonio in the process.
RSG will see the already-eliminated TNC Pro Team to wrap up their regular season campaign, while Smart Omega will see ONIC Philippines in their final matchup.
