MANILA--Quincy Miller and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson's herculean efforts went for naught as TNT still struggles to find its groove in the EASL after dropping a 106-97 decision to Taipei Fubon on Wednesday night at the Taipei Heping Gymnasium.
Both teams waxed hot in the first quarter, but the Tropang Giga ended the quarter ahead by three, 34-31.
The Braves, though, responded by holding the Tropang Giga to just 18 second-quarter points to take a 54-52 lead at halftime.
Taipei Fubon then dropped another 30-point blitz on TNT in the third quarter to stretch its lead to nine, 82-73, at the start of the fourth.
The Tropang Giga tried to stay in the game and were within three, 91-88, with 5:46 left, but the Braves answered with a 13-1 run to pull away for good.
Chris Johnson led Taipei Fubon, which won for the first time in the EASL, with 29 points on 10-of-14 shooting, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.
Mike Singletary added 26 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and two steals, while Sedrick Barefield chipped in 21 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and one steal.
Miller fired 34 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and two blocks, while Hollis-Jefferson added 33 points, six rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and two blocks for TNT, which dropped to 0-3 in EASL play.
