Magnolia makes quick work of NorthPort to go 3-0 in PBA Comm's Cup

BATANGAS CITY--Magnolia wasted no time in drubbing NorthPort en route to a 112-74 win in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

In the battle between early leaders, the Hotshots tore the Batang Pier apart in the first quarter, racing to a 28-8 lead at the end of the period and never looking back from there.

Tyler Bey put up 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and one steal to lead Magnolia, which posted its most lopsided win since drubbing Phoenix by 39 points, 127-88, in the 2022 PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals.

Mark Barroca added 17 points, two rebounds, four assists, and one steal for the now 3-0 Purefoods franchise.

Arvin Tolentino put up 22 points, seven rebounds, and two assists for NorthPort, which dropped its first loss of the season after suffering its worst defeat since losing to Phoenix by 41, 132-91, in the 2018 Governors' Cup.
