SAN JUAN, MM--Letran posted just its second win of the NCAA season after holding off Arellano, 67-58, on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

In a battle to salvage pride among bottom teams, the Knights waxed hot to open a 25-15 lead against the Chiefs at the end of the first quarter before eventually holding them to just 10 points in the third quarter for a chance to pull away for good.

However, Arellano threatened to pull a comeback and came to within seven, 65-58, with exactly one minute left.

Kevin Santos, though, delivered the icing on the cake as he converted on a layup with 16.4 seconds remaining for the final tally.

Kobe Monje led Letran, now at 2-14, with 13 points, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal, while Jay Garupil added nine points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

Josua Abastillas and Lars Sunga each contributed nine points to pace Arellano, which fell to 2-13.
