MANILA—Aldrech Ramos scored the winning basket as Terrafirma escaped NLEX's last push for a 113-112 win in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Ramos saved the day for the Dyip as he recovered the ball after Stephen Holt air-balled a layup attempt due to Thomas Robinson's tight defense and hit the layup with 3.6 seconds left.
Robinson, who earlier tied the game at 111-all before Ramos' heroics, had a chance to send the game into overtime after Andreas Cahilig fouled him while going for the reverse layup with 1.3 seconds left.
Robinson, however, missed his second free throw, and Kemark Carino secured the rebound as time ran out.
Javi Gomez De Liano fired a career-high 31 points on 10-of-15 shooting including 4-of-8 on threes, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block off the bench for Terrafirma, which moved up to 2-1.
Timothy De Thaey added 23 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while Holt finished with 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Robinson fired 40 points on 17-of-25 field goals with nine rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal, but he too finished 5-of-11 from the foul line as NLEX dropped to 1-2.
