PBA: Magnolia jumps to 2-0 with rout of Phoenix

IMUS--Magnolia forced a three-way logjam at the top of the PBA Commissioner's Cup team standings to end Week 1 of the competition after tripping Phoenix, 107-92, on Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Hotshots turned the tides in the third quarter after a tight first half, outscoring the Fuel Masters, 29-19, to take an 80-70 lead entering the fourth.

The lead ballooned to 22, 97-75, with around seven minutes left in the final frame before Magnolia settled for the 15-point win.

Tyler Bey led the Hotshots, now at 2-0 like the Meralco Bolts and NorthPort Batang Pier, with 32 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals.

Jio Jalalon added 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block.

Johnathan Williams made 26 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals for the Fuel Masters, who dropped to a three-way tie with the Blackwater Bossing and TNT Tropang Giga for fourth place at 1-1.
