QUEZON CITY--Phoenix continued its hot run in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after dragging down Terrafirma, 103-84, on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Fuel Masters turned to their defense in the first half to keep the Dyip at bay, especially in the second quarter they went 25-13 to open a 48-32 halftime lead.
Phoenix pulled away from there and stretched its lead to 30, 91-61, before settling for the 19-point win.
Johnathan Williams led the Fuel Masters, who scored their third straight win to move up to 4-1, with 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting, 13 rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal.
RJ Jazul added 13 points and one assist as they are now just a half-game behind the 4-0 Magnolia Hotshots for first place in the team standings.
Thomas De Thaey led the Dyip, who fell to 2-3, with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
