BATANGAS CITY--Tony Bishop returned to the PBA with a bang as he spearheaded Ginebra's season-opening 100-86 win against slumping Converge on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The former Meralco Bolts import debuted for the Gin Kings in style, leading the team with 34 points, 27 in the last three quarters where they slowly pulled away from the FiberXers.

Bishop also had 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and three steals, while Christian Standhardinger added 25 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, and one block for the Gin Kings, who will next face the Magnolia Hotshots in the first Manila Clasico of the PBA's 48th season on Sunday night back at "The Big Dome".

Japeth Aguilar put up 11 points, 10 rebounds, and one block off the bench.

Justin Arana led the FiberXers, who fell to 0-3, with 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one block.
