MANILA—Quincy Miller said on Wednesday night that he was puzzled why Converge would not grant him the needed release for him to join TNT as a temporary replacement import for the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

"Converge won't release me. I don't know why," Miller said.

However, on Saturday, he finally got what he wanted.

Miller was cleared to join the Tropang Giga for their season opener against the Magnolia Hotshots as the PBA announced.

It only meant the FiberXers granted the streak-shooting forward the formal release so that he could step in for the Tropang Giga in the PBA Commissioner's Cup while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is recovering from gastroenteritis.

Miller signed with TNT as its second import for the EASL, but because he is also within the six-foot-nine height limit for the PBA Commissioner's Cup, he is also eligible for the season-opening conference.

However, because there was no formal release yet from Converge, coach Jojo Lastimosa bared that they were to fly in a new import for the PBA.

Now with the release granted, Miller can suit up for the Tropang Giga against the Hotshots in the lone Sunday night game to start the league's 48th season at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
