MANILA--As expected, Baguio reigned supreme in the Batang Pinoy National Championship after pulling away on the final day of competition.
In the final medal tally released on Wednesday, the kids from the north returned home with 82 golds, 52 silvers, and 59 bronzes.
Team Baguio won 50 more golds on the final day of the event on Friday to seal its fourth straight overall championship.
The entire delegation also won PHP5 million for the overall championship.
Pasig, one of the host cities in Batang Pinoy's Metro Manila stop, finished in second with 57 golds, 55 silvers, and 74 bronzes for a PHP4 million cash prize.
Davao City ranked third with 47 golds, 50 silvers, and 39 bronzes while Quezon City overtook Cebu City for fourth place after amassing a total of 44 golds, 35 silvers, and 48 bronzes.
Cebu City ended up fifth with 38 golds, 43 silvers, and 46 bronzes.
