QUEZON CITY - Blacklist International keeps their series streak flawless despite a scare from Team SMG as they defeat the Malaysian organization two games to one to continue their Group B campaign Monday.
It was a first time for Blacklist to go against a Malaysian organization in the M-Series, with the series going into their favor against the wildcard qualifier.
The Decoders executed a 16-minute dominant showing in Game 1, 10 kills to just five for SMG, as Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo's Lylia bossed the mid lane with two kills and seven assists to his name.
Stephen "Sensui" Castillo also enjoyed a field day in the jungle as his Fredrinn tallied four kills while getting all the major objectives, including two lords, and Renejay "Renejay" Barcase pulling off a 0/2/6 with the Tigreal.
But Aeliff Adam "Smooth" Md Ariff and the rest of Team SMG responded with a dominant Game 2 showing, dealing 10 kills against Blacklist's two, as the Malaysian EXP laner went with 4/1/2 with the Benedetta.
Hazziq Danish "Stormie" Bin Mohamad Rizwan replied with a 2/0/6 showing with the Lylia and Lu "Sasa" Khai Bean's Bruno getting four kills and one assist.
However, the Tier One-backed side flipped the switch once more as they grabbed a 10-4 outing in the rubber match, with Yue once more getting the MVP nod with a 2/1/7 showing with the Faramis.
Renejay and Kiel "Oheb" Soriano enjoyed a sensational game with the roamer tallying 1/0/9 with the Mathilda and Oheb getting 2/0/5 with the Wanwan, while Sasa did not have an easy game with 0/3/0 with the Claude.
Blacklist will try to wrap up the Group Stage against friends and rivals Fire Flux Esports, while Team SMG will try to salvage their tournament life as they will go versus Brazilian giants RRQ Akira.
