Blacklist Int'l assures top 3 place with sweep of Deus Vult

MANILA - The Philippines books another top three spot in the M5 World Championship as Blacklist International sweeps Deus Vult 3-0 and grabs an upper bracket semifinals spot inside the Rizal Memorial Coliseum Saturday.

The loss marked the end of the Cinderella run for the Dark Knights as they suffered two straight series losses after securing a top two spot in Group D.

Kiel "Oheb" Soriano stood out in the first game as the Codebreakers nailed a 13-8 win in Game 1 after 17 minutes, capped by his Bruno tallying five kills and five assists, and Stephen "Sensui" Castillo's Fredrinn nailing two kills and seven assists.

Oheb's Bruno prevailed once more in the second game as he grabbed six kills and two assists in 14 minutes, helping Blacklist to a 10-5 domination of the Eastern Europeans.

Sensui's instincts showed up once more as his Fredrinn registered a perfect 3/0/4 KDA, while also securing all major objectives including three turtles and two lords.

Carl Vincent "Carvi" Tinio did not have an easy game as he fell down two times without a single kill, while Mathaios "Kidbomba" Chatzilakos's Terizla fell down four times while getting two kills and three assists.

It was the same story in Game 3 as Sensui's master class with the Fredrinn in all three games capped in a 2/1/7 MVP performance in 13 minutes to wrap the series for the Filipino side, while Renejay "Renejay" Barcase took a perfect game with the Rafaela, tallying a kill and ten assists.

It was a difficult night for Eduard "Magistor" Rukosuev as he only claimed a turtle in the entire game, with the sole lord going into Sensui's hands that put Blacklist to the drivers' seat to seal the deal.

With the win, The Philippines has secured a sure grand finals seat regardless of the win ner between ONIC Indonesia and AP.Bren, with the loser to face the Codebreakers on the third match of the penultimate day.
