STA. ROSA, Laguna—TNT's breakthrough win in the EASL may have come at a price as Rondae Hollis-Jefferson missed the remaining 2:45 of their game against Taipei Fubon on Wednesday night at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex here.

Hollis-Jefferson collided with Chen Fan Po-Yen in mid-air and fell badly with the Tropang Giga comfortably ahead, 78-66.

Hollis-Jefferson was carried by his teammates back to the TNT bench but he was eventually rushed to the hospital afterward.

"It's mixed emotions right now. We're happy we finally got that monkey out of our backs and finally got that W, but at the same time, all our thoughts and our prayers too go out to Rondae. So we're very very concerned as a unit right now," assistant coach Josh Reyes said after the game.

The scary situation made Hollis-Jefferson questionable for the team's Christmas night showdown against Ginebra in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Like against the Braves, the Tropang Giga need to beat the Gin Kings on Monday night if they want to keep their PBA Commissioner's Cup playoff hopes alive.

"Now that things are looking like they're about to turn things around--they're on the upswing--that accident happened, so hopefully we can get Rondae back as soon as possible," Reyes further said.

While activating Rondae Hollis-Jefferson's older brother Rahlir, TNT's new EASL import, could be an option, Reyes remains bullish that the younger Hollis-Jefferson would make it on time for Christmas Monday.

"We're confident. I know that he's going to be OK," Reyes further said.

For now, the team's fingers are crossed.
