QUEZON CITY - Filipino-laden Geek Fam secures a much-needed win against Myanmar's best Burmese Ghouls to secure themselves the last seat of the upper bracket semifinals of the M5 World Championship on Sunday.

Geek Fam, fielding Mark "Markyyy" Capacio in the jungler position and lone sub Mohammad Dwi "Caderaa" Chandra Pambudi in the gold, replacing Manuel "Nnael" Simbolon who was suspended for two series.

Allen "Baloyskie" Baloy's heroics put him in the MVP nod in Game 1, getting a 1/8/6 KDA with the Tigreal but was proven enough as he soaked up most of the damage dealt while Caderaa announced his return with a 3/1/2 outing of the Bruno.

Hein Arkar "Niko" Htet had other ideas as he led the Ghouls to a 1-1 even with nine kills and nine assists with the Guinevere, while Kaung Min "Lina" Khant tallied seven kills and 10 assists with the Lylia in 23 minutes of the match.

Lina doubled down on the lead and has grabbed a 2-1 series lead with his Valentina going a kill and a game-high 15 assists, while Niko's Joy make the most out of the late-game potential as he grabbed all three lords for the 18-minute affair.

Geek Fam went on to have a back-and-forth game with the Ghouls, exchanging kills after another but Geek went on to clinch the 22-minute fourth game with Markyyy's Guinevere scoring four kills and nine assists including three of four lords.

The Indonesian organization focused on their late-game composition, clicking on the eighth minute onwards despite Niko's Martis getting 7/0/0 before Caderaa hitting on his late-game potential.

Luke Febrian "Luke" Valentinus's Arlott spelled the difference in the rubber match, tallying five kills and nine assists in a 16-9 performance against Geek Fam, with the only lord of the match falling into Geek Fam and never looking back.

Geek Fam's celebration will be short as they will face AP.Bren in the upper bracket semifinals on Tuesday.
