QUEZON CITY - Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol's two MVP performances lifts tournament favorites ONIC Esports as they cruises past European side Deus Vult to continue their win streak in the M5 World Championship Tuesday.
The Filipino jungler scored five kills and 11 assists in their Game 1 match, which saw them challenge in all major objectives, losing two of three lords in 18 minutes of game time.
However, ONIC secured the last lord of the game, and with Mathaios "Kidbomba" Chatzilakos down the count, the Indonesian organization capitalized and went straight for the GG push, as Calvin "CW" Winata scored six and assisted 12 in the process.
The yellow hedgehogs doubled down with Kairi's surprise Dyrroth pick dominated the game, while CW's Claude and Gilang "SANZ" did not saw a single death, combining on six kills and 20 assists.
Meanwhile, CW stepped up the notch as he tallied eight kills and seven assists with the Bruno in the 21-minute affair, which saw Deus Vult take the early game thanks to Eduard "Magistor" Rukosuev's Lancelot grabbing two of three turtles.
Nicky "Kiboy" Fernando's Diggie pick provided myriad of problems for the Eastern Europeans as he assisted on all kills while only falling twice.
With the win, ONIC secures at least a top three finish with USD 80,000 in the bag, while Deus Vult will battle See You Soon in the lower bracket on December 15.
