MANILA—Don Trollano had a solid outing in his first game with San Miguel as he backstopped Chris Ross in their team's 95-82 win against Ginebra in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Trollano maintained the consistency he had when he was still with the NLEX Road Warriors and finished with 16 points, six rebounds, one steal, and one rebound to help Ross, who led the Beermen with 22 points on six threes, four rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
SMB pulled away in the second quarter and outscored Ginebra, 32-14, to open a 56-36 halftime lead.
The Gin Kings clawed back in the fourth quarter and cut the lead down to four, 79-75, with 5:20 left, but the Beermen answered with a 13-0 run capped by Ross's steal and layup with 1:52 left to finally seal the win.
Jericho Cruz also made 16 markers along with four boards, two dimes, and one swipe for SMB, which tied its victim and TNT for fifth place at 4-3.
Tony Bishop made 20 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and eight steals for Ginebra, which now dropped back-to-back games after a 4-1 start.
