BACOOR—Ken Tuffin won it for Phoenix as his clutch basket gave the team a 99-98 win against slumping Converge in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Tuffin was left alone inside the paint of an off-ball screen, and Jason Perkins found him for the go-ahead layup with five seconds left.

Aljun Melecio had a chance to win it for the FiberXers, but he missed a tough fallaway jumper as time expired.

Johnathan Williams led Phoenix, which now won its fourth straight game to move up to 5-1, just a half-game behind 5-0 Magnolia for the top spot, with 27 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and two steals.

Perkins added 20 points on 8-of-14 field goals, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Tom Vodanovich fired 35 points on 14-of-20 field goals, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal for Converge, which dropped to 0-5.
