Biñan escapes Quezon in 1st home stand to stay unbeaten in PSL

BIÑAN—Biñan held off Quezon in the end for a 66-63 win in their first PSL home game on Tuesday night at the Alonte Sports Arena.

Binan fought back from eight points down early in the fourth quarter to remain undefeated in the season at 10-0.

Down 59-51 with 7:37 left, Binan went on a 15-2 run to take a 66-61 lead with 19.3 seconds remaining.

Val Chauca scored on a putback to cut the lead down to three with 15.9 seconds to go.

Quezon had a chance to force overtime as Pamboy Raymundo missed two free throws with 12.6 seconds left, but with no timeouts left, the team banked on a long three from Chauca that he misfired as time ran out.

KG Canaleta led Binan with 20 points on four triples, six rebounds, and one assist, while Kenny Rocacurva added 14 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Chauca finished with 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists for Quezon, which dropped to 7-2.
