MANILA--Moonton Games confirmed on Tuesday night the rumors surrounding the future of the 2024 MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC), with Saudi Arabia bringing the premier MLBB competition for the first time outside the ASEAN region.
This announcement follows the news that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will be among the titles to be contested in the inaugural Esports World Cup, which will be held in July this year.
MSC 2024, which will be held in Riyadh, banners a USD 3 million prize pool, easily eclipsing the M5 World Championship's USD 900,000 prize pool to be the largest in the title's esports history.
The participating teams also increased from 12 to 16, including the teams from China, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Latin America the runner-up from MPL Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and a wildcard team.
The Philippines and Indonesia will still have two slots each, alongside the MENA region, while the Mekong Region loses an outright spot.
The MLBB Women's Invitational will also receive a massive boost in prizes, going from USD 30,000 last year to USD 500,000, and participating teams will increase from 10 to 12.
Teams from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, China, MENA, EECA, Mekong, Latin America, and North America will battle it out in Riyadh as well.
