QUEZON CITY—Meralco did its part in strengthening its chances of clinching a twice-to-beat advantage in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals after taking down Terrafirma, 109-102, on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With the win, the Bolts, which went on a 15-3 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Dyip, can now hope for a win by their sister team, the NLEX Road Warriors, on Saturday night against Barangay Ginebra to seal the Top 4 berth.

Shonn Miller led six Meralco players in double figures with 29 points along with 21 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Bong Quinto added 20 points, 17 in the first half, five rebounds, and nine assists off the bench.

Stephen Holt's career-high 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting and 5-of-9 on threes was spoiled as Terrafirma finished the conference at 2-9, losing their eighth straight game following what seemed like a promising start.

Juami Tiongson added 21 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
